Wild Cherry Bed and Breakfast
Walhalla
Review by Beautiful Accommodation
Getting to Wild Cherry Bed and Breakfast is an experience in itself. First there is the drive through the lush rolling hills of central Gippsland, which eventually give way to rainforest valleys and mountains, and onto the intriguing village of Walhalla itself.
The road to Wild Cherry takes you past the town’s greatest hits: the historic railway, restored old shops, St John’s Church and the original stone wall built in 1869 along Church Hill Road. This eventually leads to this hidden retreat with its choice of two ensuite rooms, each decorated in an olde-worlde theme.
Being on the side of the mountain means the views are simply mesmerising – down the beautiful valley, across the town and to the treetops beyond. And the best place to admire the outlook is while enjoying Wild Cherry’s famous “breakfast with the birds” on the front verandah of your hosts’ house. They are both chefs, so expect something a bit different, including Norwegian eggs (scrambled with smoked salmon), luscious pancakes, eggs Benedict or Florentine, among others.
Then there is the birdlife – they know when brekkie is served and arrive on cue. Kookaburras, king parrots, rosellas, bowerbirds and wrens are just some of the stars of the daily show at this relaxing spot.

This is the most beautiful place I have stayed in a very long time. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly and the rooms are gorgeous and provide every thing you can think of. The breakfast is simply superb and getting that close to the kookaburras
was amazing. I would definitely stay there again and will be recommending it to everyone who will listen!! Thank you so much to Scott & Jason.
