Villa San Michele is set back from Macrossan Street and provides immediate access to the township’s central tour and entertainment zone but with the relaxed privacy of a walled Mediterranean complex.There are 40 fully self-contained one- and two-bedroom apartments in the complex, which gives Villa San Michele the scale to support two saltwater pools, a spa, guest laundries and barbecue facilities. These all make it an ideal stop for families and people who don’t want to resort to the credit card for every breakfast, lunch and dinner. The apartments are brilliantly suited to the environment with cooling terracotta tiled floors, fans and air con, and a breezy design that is both tranquil and comfortable.
All the best restaurants, ice-creameries and shopping boutiques of Port Douglas are on the doorstep of Villa San Michele, which is also an easy walk to the famous Four Mile Beach and Marina Mirage where the tour boats depart to the Great Barrier Reef or up the river.
