Crystal-clear contemporary styleCrystal Creek near Murwillumbah is one of our favourite places. It flows through a fertile terrain with myriad greens rooted in rich volcanic soils. The region is centred on the dramatic peak of Mount Warning (or Wollumbi – “cloud catcher” – in the local Aboriginal language). It is the core of a vast volcanic caldera that erupted 23 million years ago. Valley View Hideaway Cottage is nestled in one of this amazing landscape’s most picturesque settings.
The Hideaway was completed in 2009 and is a state-of-the-art stay for one or two couples seeking a stylish and thoroughly indulgent base for exploring the Tweed. It has Crystal Creek frontage (play spot-the-platypus and wander through its beautiful sub-tropical garden and paddocks). The residence is quite breathtaking and we particularly like the two distinctive Asian-influenced bedrooms that feature four-poster beds and ensuites with double spas and views. No need to argue over who gets the best room – they are identical apart from the decor. This hobby farm even has a collection of animals to animate the outlook.
Murwillumbah thrives on its mix of farmers and hippies, and offers everything from art to great dining. The region offers many inspiring walks through the world heritage-listed national parks that rim the district.

One cottage with two master bedrooms (each with king and ensuite with double spa), lounge (gas-log fireplace, TV, DVD/CD), dining, kitchenette, covered patio (BBQ). RC AC, fans. Undercover parking.
