It's often the way. Farmers in the hinterland snap up the absolute beachfront shacks and use them once a year and the rest of us reckon we'd be there every weekend – if only it was ours. Well, thanks to one enterprising couple, your chance at beachside bliss is ready and waiting.Owners Sandy and Craig have taken what was once a humble shack and turned it into a humble shack – with oodles of style. Groovy artworks (some by Sandy), comfy contemporary furniture and beachy bed linen create a funky, uncomplicated backdrop. The hero here is the position at Tumby Bay – what must be the most idyllic little seaside town in Australia – with a beach that stretches for miles, a pier to fish off and a couple of pubs offering good fare.
And the best bit? Mum and Dad can sit in the lounge/dining and look out at the kids and pooch playing on the front lawn or the beach – it is that close. The pelicans come to the door if they hear fish are on offer and the sound of the waves lapping on the shore will lull you to sleep. Uncomplicated, fun and really affordable, this is your beach house holiday dream, close to Port Lincoln but miles
and miles from the fast-paced life.
