Sometimes you just want to pack up the bags and get away to a place where it’s all taken care of – from the gourmet meal at night to the full breakfast in the morning. But this special place must also lift the soul with its beauty, say, set atop a valley of drifting morning mists and flaring sunsets. We have found it near Maleny… it’s Top of the Hill.Food, glorious food, is central to the Top of the Hill experience. There are just six guest bungalows but the retreat has a commercial kitchen that serves a delectable Mediterranean menu against the stunning valley backdrop. Groups of up to 45 love this unique setting – and the memorable gourmet pizzas from the wood-fired oven. BYO is fine (and they don’t charge corkage). The terraced gardens are alive with birds and make for great breakout spots.
But we think couples who long to escape the rigours of family life and reconnect for a few pampered nights will most enjoy the Top of the Hill’s full-service ethic. And everyone will love the bungalows with their serene vistas – best viewed from the bubbling comfort of your spa’s sky window. Delicious.

Six cabins: each with queen bed (two also with sofa bed), LCD TV, DVD/CD, spa, RC AC. Guest lounge and bar (gas fire), dining room, media room. Undercover entertaining area and deck (wood fired pizza oven, views). Full breakfast served.
