If you can’t make it to Italy this year, we suggest an experience a little closer to home at this Tuscan-inspired retreat in the Yarra Valley. The Gatehouse at Villa Raedward is actually two contemporary, architect-designed suites privately sited away from the owners’ Villa. They take in lovely Yarra Valley views across the extensive semi-formal Mediterranean gardens. Open the French doors to your one-bedroom suite, help yourself to the provided bubbly, sit on the outdoor terrace and soak up the serenity. What a welcome to the Yarra Valley. The suites are so well equipped you could happily stayput here.
There are generous full breakfast provisions, a kitchen, lounge, current magazines and a double spa bathroom overlooking a private Zen or fern courtyard. But it would be a pity not to explore this famous area: book a guided winery tour or drive to more than 65 cellar doors within a 30-minute radius. The suites even have a current edition of James Halliday’s wine guide to help you decide. Try skydiving or ballooning, explore farm gates and check out the many recommended cafes and restaurants. Your friendly hosts are there to help, so just ask, or feel free to hide away in these cocoons of style.

Lovely! The most perfect retreat in the most perfect setting! Every expectation was exceeded. The spa was beautiful, the bed was amazingly comfortable and the atmosphere was pure bliss. Wish we had stayed two nights instead of one! Highly recommended!
