The Stone House is one of the most impressive historic homes we have seen. Dating back to 1825, it is a heritage treasure of Tasmania and classified by the National Trust. Its Georgian architecture features local stone and its manicured formal gardens overlook the South Esk River.Every grand proportion and exquisite detail speaks of true craftsmanship. Most importantly, The Stone House has been brought up-to-date with renovations in keeping with its historic past. The result is an opulent country house that deserves its coveted five-star status, just 15 minutes south of Launceston.
The entire property is yours to enjoy – the perfect luxurious enclave for up to 10 friends to enjoy. And if your group seeks some extra pampering, book an in-house chef to cater to your every whim.
The house is an Aladdin’s Cave of treasures and beautifully furnished rooms. It has four beautiful bedrooms, each with an ensuite or private bathroom, the huge dine-in kitchen features every gadget imaginable and the formal dining room and butler’s pantry are simply divine.
There is also a formal lounge, movie room and light-fi lled conservatory overlooking the garden, which holds the pool and hot tub. If you need more space, a one-bedroom wing is also available.
