This grand mansion with sweeping views over Albany's Princess Royal Harbour has an impeccable pedigree. Built in 1882, it served as a summer residence for the state's governors. And with one of the finest renovations of a historic house we have seen, The Rocks Albany is now the choice for discerning guests wanting a piece of living history – with a dash of luxury and decadence.This iconic building will no doubt impress, but it is the painstaking renovation inside that blew us away. There is a choice of six sumptuous ensuite rooms most with water or garden views. The Victorian-era restoration carries through to the fine soft furnishings, handcrafted furniture, antiques and truly indulgent bathrooms. Then there's the music room and library (with bay views), the Sunset Lounge (with its clubby feel), the cosy media room (with home theatre), billiard table and, of course, the indulgent gourmet
breakfast served each morning.
In fact, the services offered by Noelene Evans and her family are more akin to a small boutique hotel, making this unique property Albany's leading historic accommodation choice.
