Many properties have regal pretensions but few fulfil them as extravagantly as The Queen. The makeover of this quietly sumptuous family home has turned it into a breezy pleasure palace for families and friends who want space, style and a dazzling coastal panorama.The location can’t be bettered. Five generations of the same family have enjoyed this superb hilltop site near Caloundra, where they camped out before building The Queen in the 1950s. The northern aspect worships the warm Queensland sun and it’s only a short stroll to the quiet, toddler-friendly waters of Two Way Lake and Moffat beach.
The design just begs its lucky guests to sit, eat, relax and talk. We love the entertainment terrace, which is devoted to the supreme acts of holiday feasting and socialising. But there are also plenty of nooks and balconies to escape to for reading, vista contemplation or a quiet afternoon nap. The comfy bedrooms are tastefully completed in chocolate, cream and white. Down the street are cafes, a great gelato stop and a traditional fish and chippery

One house: four bedrooms (one king with ensuite and three king/twin singles). Open-plan lounge/dining (LCD TV, DVD, wood fire), full kitchen, second bathroom, outdoor covered entertainment/living (BBQ, kitchenette, outdoor bathroom, laundry facilities). Fans. Self-catering.

We loved The Queen! The view is indescribably good, so if you can't drag yourself off the sofa for a walk to the beach, you can still gaze at the ocean all day long. Great space, stylish and yet relaxed enough for a true beachside holiday. Perfect escape from the grey skies of Melbourne.

We have just returned from a beautiful week at the Queen. My husband, 3 year old and 4 month old had an absolutely fantastic time. We have travelled all over the world (admitedly without children!) and the Queen is certainly the equal of any other beach
location we have ever stayed in. The house is beautifully done, with the view from the shower in the master suite one of the highlights! The outside entertaining area has a real wow factor, not to mention the view from both the front bedrooms. Even better
though, is that we didn't have to get in the car once we were there - a short stroll down to the shops for coffee, takeaways, breakfasts, newspapers etc and then over the road to the beach, creek, rock pools and playgrounds (and very manageable for a toddler).
No-one wanted to go home! Thanks Charles and Brioney - only question we have is when can we come back?!!
