We love showcasing funky, inspiring or unusual stays that provide a wonderful guest experience – and The Polish Place has all these. It sits high up on Tamborine Mountain with views over the Scenic Rim and a restaurant that regularly beats the big-name eateries down on the Gold Coast. The owners’ passion and pride in their Polish heritage (they even have a gallery of Polish folk art) make this an exceptional alternative to the bland look-a-like tourist towers by the sea.The views from this mountain eyrie are incomparable. Maybe the world looks this way from heaven. The landscape of rainforested ridges and ranges rolls off into the distance, providing a 180-degree perspective of the sensational scenery and fabulous sunsets. A dreamy chorus of bird calls rise up from below, creating a unique soundscape. The five self-contained chalets are timber-lined, warmed by crackling fires and cosily comfortable. And the multi-award-winning restaurant – with blue ribbons for both its food and its wine – provides an authentic experience of hearty Polish fare.
There are loads of activities and places to see in the neighbourhood including Witches Falls in Tamborine National Park, a local heritage centre and botanic gardens. Surfers Paradise is 40 minutes’ drive away.
