The Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran Church was the centre of village life from 1864 to the 1950s. Over those long years it nurtured the souls of local worshipers as they, in turn, nurtured their vines, creating one of the new world's leading wine regions.Those pious vintners would be astounded at the conversion of their old kirche into one of the region's most luxurious vineyard escapes. Set within the grounds of Charles Melton Wines (famed for championing heritage vineyards and creating iconic reds), The Kirche has been magnificently reinterpreted while keeping faith with its original architectural integrity.
The heart of The Kirche is the majestic lounge, the repose of leather lounges, a wood fire, the entertainment system and a dining table perfect for long, lazy dinners. There are two bedrooms (one in the divinely inspired
attic) and a stunning bathroom with a soaking tub and vineyard views. The vestry has been transformed into a gourmet kitchen. The Kirche provides the holy trinity for gourmet lovers: fine wine, luxury surrounds and a heavenly setting.
