The Cassowary is a true testament to its creators’ years of globe trotting. They have crystallised the best of the best into one palatial architect-designed refuge set in one of the world’s greatest eco-travel locations – the far north of Queensland.This design blends luxury with green self-sustaining technology. Style radiates from every timber highlight and fabric texture. The bedrooms are calming retreats decked out with plasma TVs and blu-ray DVD players and we love the bathrooms, some of which include divine soaking baths. Little wonder that House and Garden rated The Cassowary one of Australia’s Top 50 interiors in 2009. It’s all here from the stunning wet-edge pool to a gym, a multi-purpose room for meetings and mountain bikes for exploring.
The Cassowary’s secluded setting masks its proximity to Port Douglas, The Daintree and the Great Barrier Reef. You can stay in or slip away for a tour, shopping or a gourmet restaurant treat.
