Beachfront bliss

You need a break from resorts and hotels… somewhere far from the madding crowd, perhaps on a gorgeous island, right on the beachfront, with aquamarine waters glinting from every window. Perhaps friendly dolphins might come cruising in - looking for some fish or to be admired - as a golden sun settles towards the horizon. These privately held properties have been custom-built for holidaying families, with upstairs-downstairs living zones that are ideal for giving kids and grown-ups their space. It is this sense of space and clever design that impressed us most. There are bathrooms galore, generous bedrooms (plus sofa beds), a full kitchen, laundry and balconies that will magnetically draw you to drink in the view or watch the kids on the beach below.
