The north coast of Tasmania near Launceston is an off-the-radar hidden gem, and one that the locals prefer to keep quiet. After all, why would they want the pristine beaches, amazingly clear waters and coastal vegetation spoiled by tourists? Well, we couldn’t agree more, which is why we love settling into Tam O’Shanter Views and living life like a local. Stay for a week or more and we guarantee your stresses will melt away.The four-bedroom house is the perfect beach house that has been custom-built on a raised footprint to take in the fabulous ocean views, yet designed to blend into the environment. It is large enough for family and friends to spread out (we love the full-length ocean view deck) and luxurious enough for you to be happy to stay put. The occasional foray down the sandy track to the beach for a swim, snorkel or fossicking around the rocks is a must.
We suggest playing tourist, as the cool climate wines of this Tamar Valley region are world-renowned, while some of Tasmania’s best restaurants are an easy drive away. And for any keen golfers, two of the world’s most spectacular courses will be an added bonus, with the Barnbougle Dunes Course and the newer Lost Farm Links Course around 30 minutes away.

What a truly sensational place, it was everything and more than what we were expecting. Extremely spacious and comfortable, superbly fitted out with everything you might need, especially the kitchen. I can only hope we get the chance to re-visit again in the future! I would highly recommend this peaceful retreat!!
