Just north of Bairnsdale and the Gippsland Lakes on the Great Alpine Road, you will drive through lush farming land and majestic forests. Follow the signs to Stringybark Cottages and you will come to an impressive entrance lined with huge spotted gums, sprawling lawns and a gorgeous garden, which is beautifully maintained and features an exceptional range of seasonal attractions year-round.Step inside the cottages and you will be charmed. Families will love the two-bedroom miners’ cottages, while couples will opt for Gumnut or Sugar Gum Cottage with their polished timber boards and deep baths. The choice is yours, but all feature wood fires, comfortable couches and inviting bedrooms.
It’s hard to believe this eco-friendly property generates all its own solar and wind power.
The latest addition to Stringybark is boutique beer. Host Neil has been a passionate brewer for many years and has just opened the Bullant Brewery and Restaurant five minutes up the road at nearby Bruthen. Everyone staying at Stringybark will get a sampler pack, but we highly recommend you add a visit to Bullant to your next Great Alpine Road and Gippsland Lakes holiday.
