It is easy to see why the Strandhaus was named as one of the 100 Great Australian Holiday Homes by Australian Traveller. It combines a classic rainforest and beachfront location with magnificent architect-designed proportions and a truly sympathetic integration with the surrounding coastal bushland.This house has a wonderfully light European design sensibility that fits perfectly with the practical functionality of the best Aussie beach houses (Strandhaus means “beach house” in German, reflecting its owners’ heritage). The use of rich, red timbers outdoors works so well with the light, airy interiors and the whole house is anchored by a stunning pool and bushland setting. The decks and lounges flow smoothly into each other, making the Strandhaus a great entertainer for families or friends on the run from city stress.
We love the bush path that leads straight to fabulous Rainbow Beach. Don’t be surprised to see a speckled goanna race up a tree or to hear kookaburras laughing in the distance. Strandhaus can’t be beaten as a base to experience the many local attractions including Fraser Island and feeding the dolphins at Tin Can Bay.
