Stoneybank Settlement Cottages is one of our surprise finds: historic, beautiful and offering sheer pleasure whether you come as a couple or a group. The property dates back to the 1850s when a pioneer community of farmers settled the rolling hills. Here they made their own land of milk and honey, building stables, a village bakery and these gorgeous cottages.There are few places in Australia where you can stay in heritage cottages in their original village setting, which is what makes the Stoneybank Settlement so exceptional. The owners have one cottage, leaving three others for guests, including one with the original baker's oven. Each has its own character, with charming
lounges, one or two bedrooms, wood fires and kitchens. The old barn has been transformed into a recreation centre that includes a billiards table.
The whole scene is so beguiling that you will have little incentive to leave the twittering bird life and delicious seclusion of this private village. But if you do want to explore, Mt Pleasant is nestled between the Adelaide Hills and the Barossa, making your choice of where to head all the harder.

Three cottages: two one-bedroom and one two-bedroom, each with queen bed, lounge (wood fire), kitchen, BBQ. Recreation barn (billiard table, TV, DVD, VCR, CD, BBQ), tennis court. Full breakfast provisions provided.
