As you drive along the Great Ocean Road, you will crane your neck to take in the spectacular ocean views. But once you arrive at Stephanie’s at Onion Bay you can relax – that breathtaking view is front and centre with 180 degrees of uninterrupted, ever-changing Southern Ocean spread out before you.

Naturally, the Seascape Apartment panders to that cinemascope panorama with breathtaking views from the lounge, bed, dining table and from the big deck out the front. There’s even another deck at the back with a barbecue, a herb garden and Otway Ranges views. If travelling with friends, you can book the Carisbrook Room that looks across to hillside views.

And don’t worry if you have never heard of Onion Bay: the few locals are happy to keep this secluded beach paradise hidden from passers-by.

Stephanie’s is a short drive from Apollo Bay and Lorne, and Carisbrook Falls are within walking distance. There is a secret path to the beach where you can explore rock pools, swim in the sea and let the salt air soak into your skin.

We love Stephanie’s mix of private self-contained apartment space, indulgent provisions and extras but most of all its amazing position. We think you will too.
