The name alone speaks of romance – ‘Stephanette' suggests a soft, beguiling place set peacefully among pretty vineyards alongside a gentle river – and that is exactly what you will find at this secluded Barossa Valley escape.Here in this quintessential Barossa wine region hideaway, hosts Stephen and Anette (the marriage of their first names being the inspiration for the name) have lovingly restored a 1910 cottage for the enjoyment of one couple at a time. Inside you'll find an open-plan lounge (with wood fire), dining and a kitchenette
(perfect for preparing an antipasto platter of regional goodies collected in the Valley). There is a separate bedroom with ensuite featuring fine imported linen and original artworks.
But hearts will truly flutter over the surprise waiting beyond the bedroom's French doors: a marvellous outdoor heated spa overlooking an olive grove and vineyards of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, savagnin and tannat. Naturally you'll want to try Stephanette's own label (generously a complimentary bottle is included) as well
as wander the valley in search of other gentle pursuits in art, food and wine.
