SkyHouse is perched high on Mount Macedon in pristine bushland with sweeping north-facing views across to mystical Hanging Rock. It is a stunning oasis with everything needed to relax: there’s thatincredible view, bird life aplenty and the odd wallaby, koala or wombat passing through. Yet you are barely an hour from the centre of Melbourne.
The house itself is all yours for the weekend or a week. Its picturesque storybook architecture features three stylish bedrooms that sleep up to six, while the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area has a delightful blend of country charm and city chic.
For entertainment there’s petanque on the mini sports oval where the sun filters through the soaring eucalypts, and the kitchen has all the gadgets needed to cook up your own feast (plus there’s a BBQ terrace outside). The log fire is fantastic in winter, which is just as well because snow is not unheard of up here. Christmas in July, anyone?
You could get out and explore the Macedon Ranges’ wineries, the cafes and restaurants of nearby Woodend and Kyneton, the winding country lanes or hit the hiking trails on the mountain at your doorstep. Then you can return to SkyHouse, light the fire, crack a bottle of local red and simply enjoy this sublime country house.

We would recommend it to anyone. Everything you need is provided, the cosy log fire was put to use and works a treat. The views are fantastic even on a dull day. It is close to everything you need, if you want to go out and eat you can and there are plenty of produce shops to purchase food to stay in as well. We had a lovely restfull weekend and would love to do it again.
