There is something incredibly restful about sitting on the verandah of your own private cottage and taking in ever-changing water views with yachts bobbing on the bay, and green hills and sometimes snowcapped mountains in the distance. This is the beautiful panorama that awaits you at Shetland Rest: that’s Glaziers Bay and the Huon River down below and the Hartz Mountains in the background. Within cooee is the pretty town of Cygnet, it’s a short drive to Kettering to catch the ferry to Bruny Island and Hobart is only 45 minutes away.But with such peaceful and picturesque views from nearly every room, we think you will simply enjoy having this private slice of rural paradise all to yourselves. Come as a couple or with friends and family – you get the entire two-bedroom cottage which comes complete with all the essentials (including free internet broadband and an espresso machine).
To paint a picture of Shetland Rest think gorgeous barn-like cottage with exposed beams and sink-into couches, rolling lawns and lush gardens, plus there’s a choice of indoor and outdoor dining spots that take advantage of that amazing view. To say that our expectations were exceeded by Karen and Geoff would be an understatement; the property is gorgeous, with its stunning views and lovely accommodation, as is well described above, but it is the sheer generosity of their hospitality that has
magnified our very fond recollection of our stay. The attention to detail and overwhelming consideration of their guests experience and contentment is seldom found in contemporary, mainstream hospitality, and their passion to deliver a premium experience to
match the idyllic surrounds is abundantly evident from their luxuriant bed linen, to a stocked pantry and games for kids, to the home baked bread in the hamper. Shetland Rest is a gem that I expect we will visit many times to come. Thank you Karen and Geoff.
