Shearwater isn’t your average beach cottage. Sure, it has the weatherboard façade, French Provincial-inspired interior and welcoming vibe, but don’t think a stay here means you and your travelling companions will be living in cramped quarters. Oh no, because Shearwater is a two-storey stay, so when it comes to the space stakes this property is more like a house.

With so much space comes a smattering of perks. Think two separate living spaces, four excellent bedrooms, a great outdoor area, laundry and huge dining room. It’s little surprise then that Shearwater is suited to all styles of escape. Children and pets are welcome too, and young kids (and the young at heart) will love the collection of toys, books, board games, DVDs and gaming console provided. The upstairs family room could easily become a kids-only space, leaving adults to while away afternoons in front of the wood-burning fire or outside on the terrace.

A short stroll from Shearwater will bring to you Rye’s bayside beach. The shallow waters make this stretch of sand ideal for guests with children. The centre of Rye is within walking distance too.
