A delight in the vines

This is the compelling tale of a forgotten treasure being found and resurrected into a multiaward-winning charmer. Seppeltsfield Vineyard Cottage was built in the 1860s by German settlers who helped to found the local wine industry. Then, after a long decline, the current owners set about a restoration, transforming the old bones into a world-class retreat. Its sophisticated luxury reflects minute attention to reviving original details such as hand-forged fittings.

Couples have the place to themselves, surrounded by vineyards whose product bears the vibrant label Seize The Day. There is crisp white linen in the bedroom - ideal after a session in the heavenly soaking tub, wafted by vine-scented breeze through the French doors. Inside there is a fire-lit lounge, Bose entertainment system and gourmet goodies from this prodigious region.

Guests can enjoy the exclusive privilege of a structured wine tasting by one of the Valley's most respected boutique vintners, Peter Milhinch. His wines rest in the 150-year-old cellar under Seppeltsfield Vineyard Cottage.
