Just 30 minutes north of Launceston, the Tamar River widens as it makes its way to the sea. It becomes even more picturesque with sail boats and the surrounding hills providing a soothing tableau. It’s easy to see why this hamlet is called Beauty Point. Naturally, each of the three spa cottages at Pomona is sited to take advantage of this fabulous river view.The outlook alone is worth a visit and ,the self-contained cottages more than match their position. Think Federation charm with contemporary class, cosy wood fires and sunny rotundas to capture the sun (and those views).
The attention to detail is superb – the couches are designed for sinking into and unwinding, the full breakfast provisions are among the most generous we have seen and the garden invites relaxation.
If you want to explore, this is the heart of the Tamar Valley Wine Region, featuring many cellar doors, farm gates and restaurants. For something unusual, visit Seahorse World and you can also enjoy a Penguin Tour, try the Glengarry Bush Maze, go on a nature walk or discover a hidden beach. Whatever you do, it’s nice to know that Pomona’s double spas are waiting for you at the end of the day.
