Historic Port Fairy is a picture postcard village and if you want to be part of it, then a stay at Oscars will put you in the heart of the picture. On the Moyne River waterfront, you will be the envy of everyone as you sit on the sunny riverside terrace enjoying an amazing full breakfast. How does caramelised banana hotcakes or breakfast bruschetta with tomatoes, prosciutto, rocket and basil pesto sound?The property is exquisite and everything a small boutique hotel should be. There is the helpful attention of the manager, the all-day tea and coffee service for you to help yourself (with luscious shortbread), a suitably grand staircase and beautiful guest areas with high ceilings.
Enjoy the riverfront terrace, the breakfast room also overlooking the river, the French-style courtyard or the cavernous drawing room with its massive gas log fi re and overstuffed couches. You could easily lose an afternoon enjoying this elegant space.
The premium rooms have river views, though all share the same French Provincial style. One of the courtyard rooms has a spa ensuite, while the other has a private lounge with a gas log fi re and French doors to the courtyard. Expect superb, noexpense- spared style here in a blue-chip position.
