For a luxe coastal retreat that will make you feel like royalty, you can’t go past Newhaven. Magnificent views over the bay and Mount Martha provide the backdrop to an unforgettable beach holiday.

As you roll-up and pull into the circular driveway, you’d be excused for thinking you’re in Malibu, California. The house sits boldly behind a huge palm tree, a striking contrast to its industrial-chic façade. The architecture continues to impress inside, with floor-to-ceiling glass capturing bay views and creating light-filled spaces.

The stylish interior design is a standout feature, the central space being the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Picture yourself sprawled out on the plush chaise enjoying a book or a chat by the fireplace. While lounging about you’ll be drawn to the backlit cabinet’s quirky-cool display of treasures, and the beautiful glass-topped dining table will have you planning your evening gatherings.

If you’re coming with friends, you’ll want to snag the upstairs master bedroom with its ensuite and water views. But if you luck out never fear – downstairs you can choose from three king-beds with luxurious linen to collapse on. For the kids there’s a dorm with bunks, adjacent to a rumpus room with a Wii, PlayStation 3 and Foxtel.

The outside entertainment is equivalent to that of an exclusive boutique resort. Spend your days on the ground-floor deck overlooking the bay, hopping between the sun lounges, salt-water pool and Jacuzzi. Sit back and enjoy a cool summery drink while the kids play in the cubby house or jump on the trampoline. If the adults feel like joining in the games, there’s a full-sized tennis court and private driving range on the grounds.

Being on the Mornington Peninsula, you’re just a short drive from premium golf courses, cellar doors, beaches and eclectic villages. Check out the Mount Eliza farmers’ market and bring a haul of fresh produce back to the house for a gourmet feast. You’re also just a 10-minutes from Mornington’s bevy of cafes, bars and restaurants, including the popular Mornington Peninsula Montalto Estate.
