Finding the right base for any stay in South Australia's vivacious capital is all about location. You need to be within five minutes' drive of Adelaide's CBD and the food and fun zone of the East End, near Victoria Park Racecourse (for the Clipsal 500) and the Wayville Showgrounds, and less than 60 minutes' drive from the Barossa, McLaren Vale or the Adelaide Hills. In short, you need to be at Michelle's Garden Apartments.We love this place as a quiet haven in the centre of the action. The options are fantastic – from studios up to four bedrooms – each with a courtyard, balcony or patio overlooking the gardens. The larger apartments have full kitchens and big lounge and dining areas but even the studios have a kitchenette, dining table and lounge (so self-cater in privacy). All have excellent bathrooms.
Apart from the location, Michelle's lodgings impressed us with their well-planned amalgamation of a gracious mansion and a contemporary interior style. There are granite kitchens, fashionable furnishings in trendy colours and windows to draw in ample light. A perfect choice for work or leisure.
