There are some properties that deliver a complete guest experience of profound rural privacy, luxurious style, gourmet meals to tempt and hosts who really are experts about their local area. Melawondi Spring Retreat ticks all these boxes, making it a magnificent place for couples who want to get away for a special celebration or some memorable pampering.Melawondi is set on 30 acres of bushland that slopes down to a creek-fed lake – look out for turtles or platypus cruising the waters for fresh yabby. The studio is architect-designed and positioned to maximise guests’ enjoyment of the wonderful bush vista. Its open-plan structure creates a feeling of space while preserving a sense of intimacy. The interior fit-out has been expertly planned and elegantly furnished.
A real treat here is the hosts’ cooking. Picture yourselves under the stars eating lamb shanks that have been slow-cooked for three hours on a camp fire. Breakfast provisions include thick butcher’s bacon, local free-range eggs and crusty homemade bread. The hosts have also mapped some superb walking routes through the neighbouring Imbil State Forest.
