Soon its doors will open for the snow season and all the delights of this exquisite Xanadu on the slopes will be at guests’ beck and call. You don’t even need to know piste from randonnée to enjoy Marritz, which has the only indoor heated pool in Perisher – just sit back in your bathers with a mug of hot chocolate and watch the action on the slopes.
Marritz has 24 rooms to suit every budget from no-expense-spared to those seeking style on a budget. The pick of the lot is the amazing Tower Suite, which commands 360-degree views from its lounge-dining eyrie. On moonlit evenings, the snowy landscape is simply ethereal. In all rooms, you can lie back in the warmth of your bed and gaze at the snow blanketing outside.
The spirit of The Marritz is of a cosy European chalet. There is a bar and lounge (with log fire) and a gallery restaurant that draws crowds from elsewhere. And the best part for skiers is that Marritz is only 250 metres from the main slopes.
