There is something incredibly enchanting about the thought of living in a tree house, seeminglysuspended above the ground, feeling like you are part of nature rather than a spectator. That magical treetop experience is what you will enjoy at Lochiel, a collection of contemporary cottages perched in this idyllic Dandenong’s location with lush fern gullies below and towering rainforest all around you.
The three tri-level cottages feature a king bedroom and balcony at treetop level. A living room, another balcony and inviting wood fire is on the lower level, while a huge separate spa bathroom is on the middle level. The Treetops Guesthouse one-level cottage features similar features, but sprawled out on the one upper level with larger balcony. There is also a four-bedroom cottage that we love for group and family getaways. The huge outdoor spa and deck overlooking the forest invites many hours of relaxation.
Lochiel is all about contemporary, unfussy style with neutral tones framed by massive picture windows and vaulted ceilingshighlighting nature’s ever-changing canvas outside.
Lochiel’s owners also own the award-winning Ranges Café in the heart of Olinda so you get to enjoy a full breakfast (complete with great coffee) at the café, which is just a few minutes walk from the property. It makes for a very indulgent start to the day.
