In a world where luxury' is overused, Lake House Beechworth definitely lives up to the word.
Wow! What a simply beautiful house. In a world where ‘luxury’ is overused, Lake House Beechworth definitely lives up to the word. The New England designed two-storey house is a pleasure to enjoy, where everything has been considered. Its position by two lakes means water views from nearly every room, and it isn’t just guests who fall in love with the tranquil location. Judging by the chorus of birdsong, the birds also love this unique spot.
Inside, the huge open-plan living area features a cook’s kitchen, plus a gas log fire to keep you cosy on cool nights. When the sun is shining, the place to be is on the huge deck – perhaps enjoying breakfast with the sun on your face in the morning, on one of the Adirondack chairs with a good book in the afternoon, followed by a gourmet barbecue on the Weber in the covered outdoor dining area.
The bedrooms, naturally, are lush and inviting. The master suite downstairs features double doors opening to the deck, also with a sumptuous ensuite. Upstairs are two equally gorgeous queen bedrooms with views over the lakes. The house is just a short walk into town – perhaps along the lakeside track – to enjoy Beechworth’s many recommended restaurants, galleries and shops.
Downstairs: king bedroom (spa bath ensuite, WIR, deck access), kitchen (espresso machine), dining, living (TV, DVD, gas log fire), mudroom, laundry, powder room, deck (covered dining, BBQ): upstairs: two queen bedrooms, bathroom. Parking.
House per couple from $305 per night, extra rooms $150 each per night (accommodation only, breakfast and picnic provisions available)
3 hours or 270km north-east of Melbourne
