Karinga Park Homestead on Hindmarsh Island is one of South Australia's historic gems – once the residence on a 1,000-acre dairy farm, today it has been restored to provide guest accommodation.Hindmarsh Island is an outstanding destination connected to the old river port of Goolwa and is a gateway to explore the distinctive landscape of the Coorong – a spectacular wilderness of world significance. Close by is Victor Harbor, a home of the Southern Right Whale and fairy penguins. Karinga Park makes for a great base to explore the region's restaurants, wineries and the farmers, antique and craft markets.
The Homestead offers eight beautiful rooms with period touches and sumptuous bed linen. Relax poolside then dine alfresco in the Mediterranean-style courtyard. The former ballroom is the heart of this gracious 1853 home with plenty of seating for large groups to gather, making it popular for family reunions, functions,
retreats and conferences. Karinga has its own forest and lush setting opposite the Murray River.
There is accommodation for a further 18 guests in the cottage and Island Lodge.
