Welcome to South Australia’s most deliciously sumptuous hideaway – and its newest. Yet Jordan On Boston is about more than a blend of high style overlaid on a palatial ‘Monaco-meets- Dallas’ mansion. It is also a food adventure guided by multi-hat and star chef Suzi McKay and her ebullient partner Ian Main.Jordan was built by a tuna fisherman (who wanted the biggest) and remodelled by the hosts (who wanted the best) and it now offers three luxurious suites overlooking Boston Bay. All have private lounge, bedroom and opulent spa bathrooms – little worlds with stunning views in a hilltop universe that offers several lounges (including the Gatsby piano bar). There is an indoor pool, magical gardens and the place is festooned with passionately collected antiques and arts.
Then there is the food, which ranges from intimate platters for two to degustation dinners for groups, with matched wines from the cellar. The star attractions are the local fruits of the sea, paddock and orchard, orchestrated with unpretentious indulgence in mind. This is luxury as therapy: are you ready to be healed?
