A short jaunt from Perth brings you to historic York. In addition to the many historic buildings, a superb gallery in the Old Mill and several good restaurants, York hosts a number of festivals annually, including gourmet food and wine, jazz and spring gardens.And when it comes to choosing a place to stay, Hillside Country Retreat offers a sense of history and a dash of country style in its B&B suites and family cottages. The B&B suites each have a unique decorative style from Tudor in feel to some with a brass bed and all have a lounge area (some even have a gorgeous pot belly wood fire). B&B guests are treated to a full breakfast served in the delightful garden Tea House.
For families or groups (including cyclists, birdwatchers and bushwalkers), the three country cottages are ideal. Each offers three or four bedrooms, a large lounge and dining and a full kitchen to self cater. Whichever you choose, Hillside features flowering gardens, stunning country vistas and hosts who are warm and generous yet unobtrusive.
