It is unusual to find accommodation set within a national park, much less a working farm. Hawke Brook Chalets offers this setting, which lends to it an utterly peaceful backdrop rich in birdlife. This is a working farm that grows avocadoes and other fruits and also offers oneand two-bedroom chalets that cater to couples and families alike.Each chalet shares equally in a superb lake view, with rolling lawns down to the water’s edge – just perfect for a summer picnic and frolicking. There is even a playground in the garden so you know this is a family-friendly pick.
The views to the karri forests of the Warren National Park are beautiful. The 40-acre property itself is a haven and guests are encouraged to discover it. Walk a trail that meanders along the Hawke Brook and over little bridges to the Warren River. Pick some herbs or help yourself to kiwi fruit. And don’t be surprised if the four chocolate labradors who call this farm their home accompany you – they are
guaranteed to be a hit with the kids. You’ll meet geese that think they are swans, guinea fowl that are farm workers in disguise (keeping the farm pest free) and a pet cow that never seems to move. Intrigued? You and the kids will love it.
