But the riches on Kangaluna's doorstep are the spectacular Gawler Ranges, formed 1,500 million years ago and carved through with fantastic rock formations, salt lakes and deep gorges that teem with flora and fauna.
Kangaluna's magic is to mix comfort with a non-touristy offering. Under a blue sky that blazes into a starry, starry night, we learnt of a country created by millions years of dreaming from guides who are passionate about sharing the secrets of the bush. But you won't be roughing it as you tour by private 4WD through this incredible landscape, stopping for cool sunset drinks and scrumptious meals. This is an exotic, unforgettable journey.
