In Beechworth’s main street, among its fantastic shops and restaurants, Freeman on Ford is an impressively grand building befitting its origins in 1876 as a bank. But step inside and you will be astounded at the meticulous restoration of this incredible heritage building – the attention to detail is extraordinary. So much so, it has won them three heritage awards. The furnishings, colour schemes and décor are in keeping with each stage of the building’s life.The four upstairs guest rooms are thoroughly Victorian, with grand French antiques, Victorian-style ensuites, and rich fabrics and colour schemes. The downstairs guest lounge areas and dining room are more suited to their Edwardian heritage. You will also discover the simply sumptuous, opulent new wing, complete with two enormous guest suites (each with huge marble bathrooms and verandah access). The largest of the accommodation options, they have a guest sunroom and broad verandah overlooking the sun-filled landscaped garden. It comes complete with relaxation areas and the piece de resistance – the solar-heated pool and spa.
You will be greeted with a decadent afternoon tea on arrival (optional), while a multi-course breakfast is
included the next day. Cheese platters can also be prepared. Freeman on Ford offers heritage with pizazz and fi ve-star luxury with pampering.
