The design brief to renowned architects Troppo, was easy: create stunning beachfront apartments where every apartment soaks in the fabulous view to the Bay of Islands, provide plenty of space and a private courtyard garden, and make sure everything is imbued with a striking coastal style with a crisp, contemporary twist.The result: Esperance Island View Apartments. We loved these multi-award-winning apartments on our last visit and since then they have been zhushed up with plasma TVs and new linen, leather lounges and BBQs. What hasn’t changed is the choice of bedroom configurations, big living areas for relaxed entertaining, cool terracotta and timber floors, gourmet kitchens and soaring ceilings that flood in natural light.
And while the apartments invite lazy days doing nothing, we do suggest exploring the unspoilt natural wilderness of this superb area. There are myriad white sandy beaches to explore (most with nary a footprint to be seen), hire a bike or kayak, cruise the hundreds of islands offshore, or simply relax on your islandview balcony and spot whales and dolphins passing by.
