Lady of the lakeJust thinking about Driftwood and its sublime lakeside setting makes us want to return for a stay. This property has been in the owner’s family since her dad purchased it back when pounds, shillings and pence were currency. Since then, love and attention has been lavished on Driftwood, turning this charming cottage into an oasis of serenity, style and total comfort.
Driftwood’s inner authenticity shines through in the artwork, the nautical overtones and the quietly integrated decor of elegant lamps, plump-cushioned sofas and cosy bedrooms. We love the elegant principal bedroom, which has tall French doors that open to the deck and lake view, making it a splendid setting for morning toast and coffee brewed on the espresso machine. The main lounge has a boldly fluted open fireplace that projects radiant warmth throughout the room and Driftwood’s country-style kitchen is a real charmer and well-equipped to prepare for a dinner party.
The real pleasures here are the simple ones – walking a few steps to the water’s edge for a swim, a sunset stroll around the lake, a seafood barbecue with friends – these are the lasting memories that a stay at Driftwood will bring.

We found Driftwood amazing. It has been so tastefully decorated and we loved the seaside theme. As soon as we walked in, we felt that we had arrived home. On Saturday night we were undecided whether to go out for dinner or have it on the veranda…we made
the right choice. It was a beautiful calm evening; we had your guitar CD playing in the background, candles on the table, a beautiful Italian meal from Milton and a bottle of Red. As we sat there looking at the sun setting over the lake we realised that we
were sitting in the best restaurant in Australia. Even the local possum came up to say hello later that evening. On Sunday morning we felt sorry that we had to leave. Top place and we have already recommended it to our friends. Well done David and Virginia,
Driftwood is a credit to both of you and we will definitely be back.
