The setting is pure magic: a picturesque lake fringed by a majestic karri forest – and Diamond Tree Farmhouse is all yours for the duration. The owners live on another farm so there will be no one to interrupt your sense of lording it over a private country domain.The farmhouse is a beauty – a wartime resettlement home that has been fully renovated including a spacious new bathroom. There are two restful bedrooms and a lounge warmed by an open wood fire. The country kitchen will easily cater to your family or touring party and you can eat in (at the large indoor dining table) or out (on the beautiful deck). Both spots are perfect for lazy meals in summer or winter. Guests are welcome to pick oranges, lemons and grapefruit from the orchard (we hear the cows love the lemons in particular).
But it is the grand view that dominates here. Watch swans rear their signets on the lake, see the weather roll in and out of the valley, or walk to the forest of trees beyond the lake. And when it comes time to explore, gourmet delights such as the Wine and Truffle Company and wineries are nearby. This is an idyllic country escape close to Manjimup and Pemberton.
