This beach was ‘discovered’ in the 1960s by the TV legends Bob and Dolly Dyer (of Pick-A-Box fame). Bob loved the superb fishing and Dolly liked the peace and solitude away from big city celebrity. Amazingly, Bramston Beach is still as secluded now as it was then – one government study even nominates it as the cleanest beach in the Australian tropics.Bramston Beach House is decades removed from the fibro beach shacks of the 1960s. This is a state-of-the-art beachfront home, complete with a wrap-around pool and an entertainer’s floor plan. The design flows from the comfy lounges in front of the big flat-screen TV and Bose speakers to the eight-seater dining setting and outside deck. It offers sublime bedrooms, including a master with its own ensuite and Austar TV feed. Just bring your food and drink, and settle in for some chilled out away-time from the world.
Nearby is the classic Queensland cane town of Babinda. You can take a boat trip to the Frankland Islands, visit a crocodile farm or walk the rainforests. Bliss.
