Life among the vigneronsBracken Ridge Vineyard Estate’s villas are centre stage in one of Australia’s great wine growing regions. The local map reads like a guide to the better shelves of the local wine shop with the villas in the centre of the action. Bracken Ridge is a working estate with four attractive villas, a converted stables and a homestead, allowing you to sample the life of a vigneron. Whilst you could be forgiven for feeling as if you’ve settled into the French provinces, watching kangaroos nibble the grass between the vines at sunset is an only-in-Australia experience.
The villas can sleep from two to eight people. Most have romantic timber-lined lofts, some reached by a spiral staircase. Each villa is fully self-contained and you can choose between breakfast supplies or a cheese platter on arrival. The interior style is simple, unaffected and very comfortable, making superb use of picture windows to look across the estate to Brokenback Ridge. The country-style homestead has three bedrooms, a wonderful kitchen an entertainment lounge with wood fire and a pool.
Bracken Ridge would make an ideal venue for an unforgettable wedding with a marquee on the expansive lawns and everyone nestled down happily afterwards.
