Privacy and luxury in one

Innovative design and a dazzling location make Beachside Retreat one of our favourite Tasmanian escapes. This is creative, contemporary eco-architecture at its luxurious best. And with 2km of private absolute beachfront land, it makes for a very indulgent getaway.

There are just four 'cabins' perched on the sand dunes among the coastal vegetation, each with a sensational outlook to the wide, white sandy beach below and the waters of West Inlet beyond. This is all about beachcombing, swimming or fishing in the lagoon-like ocean. You can even gather wild rock oysters with the hum of the waves breaking as your backing soundtrack.

Hosted 4WD, helicopter and farm tours can be arranged for those wanting to discover nearby Stanley and its wilderness surroundings.

Back at Beachside Retreat, expect stylish interior design with bespoke rare-timber furniture, fully equipped kitchens and private decks making the most of that magical view. The two Eco Cabins are cosy dune-top options, while the more spaciousNature Cabins feature those sensational views from every room.

They are all eye-poppingly impressive but our favourite is Sea Eagle with its private hot tub on the dunes overlooking the beach. While the cabins are designed exclusively for couples, there is also a larger farm-style lodge set in a beachside garden that caters for groups and children.
