Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages have only improved since our last visit, although the pristine mountain panorama is as inspiring as ever. Barry and Jennifer have worked hard to make the award-winning Barney Creek a sustainable and low carbon emission property. And the green theme continues to the estate winery and a cornucopic organic veggie garden that guests are welcome to forage like an edible library.There are just three guest pavilions: the tranquil and reflective Lakeside; the Hill Station (with its marvellous views); and the quiet, scented charm of the Garden Cottage (which has three bedrooms for families). Each is thematically complete, combining fabric, colour, timber and stone to make an entirely comfortable self-contained stay. And each enjoys its own unadulterated privacy and individual perspective on the surrounding 40 acres and beyond.
We suggest ordering up one of Jennifer’s lunch platters or sumptuous dinner packages, complete with a selection of property’s organically fertilised wines. A real treat.

Hill Station: queen bed, lounge, spa bathroom, full kitchen. All with wood fire, DVD, CD. Swimming pool. Self-catering.
