Barefoot in paradise

Heaven must be rather like Barefoot at Broken Head - surrounded by rainforest, a short stroll down a private path from one of the world's best right-hand surfing breaks and unbelievably luxurious. What a reward for a life well-lived, but fortunately, you can have it now. Plus, you are only minutes away from groovy Byron when you need some action between blissing out at what is undoubtedly one of Australia's most iconic beachfront hideaways.

Barefoot integrates the best of Balinese architectural design with stylish contemporary pizzazz. It comprises three separate bedroom pavilions arrayed around a central lounge pavilion, which breathes in the superbly landscaped tropical garden. A gourmet kitchen and lounge completes the compound. Each bedroom pavilion is simply exquisite - two have netted daybeds on their entrances (anyone for an afternoon nap?) and all offer sumptuous ensuites, their own plasma TV and air-conditioning, and throughout the property is an iPod-linked music system. The stunning 'reading and reflection pool' has four infinity edges to create a millpond reflection of the gardens and it flows seamlessly into a 20m lap pool.

This is a superlative choice for the ultimate beach holiday, special occasion or an intimate wedding for up to 70 guests.
