There are times when you owe yourself a stay at somewhere like these luxurious boutique apartments in the Whitsundays. But what really surprised us about ‘at Waterfront Whitsunday Retreat’ is that its quality far exceeds its pricing. This is very upmarket at a very affordable tariff. No wonder it was a Tourism Whitsunday Accommodation Award Winner.As always, we look to the bathroom first to quickly gauge how hard a property is trying. Result: ‘A’ grade. The pebbled ensuites are generously provisioned with indulgent Kudos spa lotions and beauty products and all suites have balcony spas – plus there is a six-person Jacuzzi on the deck of the penthouse. The marbled kitchens have wine fridges, the lounges have home theatres with 50-inch plasma TVs, and the bedrooms are suave and simple in their grace and beauty. There is even a four-poster bed draped in silk in the penthouse, which is divine.
The location and view is unbeatable: just 200 meters to Airlie Beach village and the iconic islands of the Whitsunday’s are easily admired from the refreshing depths of the infinity pool.
