This is what eco design is all about. Contemporary and striking architecture sits comfortably with a minimal footprint in this unspoilt Southern Grampians setting, built with sustainable and local materials. Most importantly, the design hasn't compromised guests' comfort levels or the property's amenities. Aquila Eco Lodges have been practising “eco” long before it became trendy.
Located in 100 acres of native bushland adjoining the Grampians National Park, the property has a “Trust for Nature” covenant and so wildlife, majestic gums, wild flowers and the towering outcrop of the Great Dividing Range form a natural stage for Aquila’s lodges. With a setting so serene, the lodges induce an almost immediate sense of calm and relaxation, especially with their huge picture windows blurring the lines between outside and inside. Even the showers have glass walls to draw in the views.
Choose a three-storey Tree House to get up close to the treetops, or a Loft House for front row encounters with kangaroos, echidnas and birdlife. All options have well-equipped kitchens and barbecues for those who like to eat in, but if you want to experience one of Australia’s best restaurants, Aquila also offers complimentary transfers to and from the nearby Royal Mail Hotel.
