Country townhouses with roomAlbury Suites provide an answer to that nagging problem of where to stay in a large regional country town if you want contemporary style. These modern townhouses (completed in 2007) are immaculately cared for by the owner, Michael Kean. The East Albury location – near the town’s main Dean Street shopping precinct – makes it ideal for either inquisitive travellers on a longer stay or professionals with business in town.
One of the most striking features of these townhouses is their sheer space. The two bedrooms are palatial in size, with plenty of room to unsling the bags, spread out your maps or set up your mobile office. There are full kitchens and laundries, plus courtyards with barbecues and internal garages. At day’s end, you will relish flopping down on one of the big comfy sofas with a glass of local shiraz in one hand and the 42-inch plasma TV’s remote control in the other.
The local area is quiet and convenient. You can step out for dinner at a local pub, order in, or grill a steak in the privacy of your courtyard. Afterwards, take an evening constitutional walk over to the wonderful Albury Botanic Gardens.
