Trentham is one of Victoria’s latest hot destinations. There’s the Cosmopolitan Hotel for an upmarket foodie experience, the Coliban Food Store for a city-style cafe and produce store, the fabulous Red Beard Bakery for great bread (and breakfasts and lunches), plus quaint shops and galleries. Being right in the heart of the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges region also means there’s plenty of exploring and pampering options available.Our suggestion? Take time out to enjoy the village and relax in the quirky charm of Akyra Lodge. Akyra is the creation of a New York ex-pat who wanted to replicate the New York loft style with colour and light.
Add an Australian touch with ripple iron cladding plus a Japanese water garden, and the result is a one-off designer property.
The Lodge is the larger house with a big upstairs bedroom, huge living and dining rooms downstairs plus an outdoor dining deck. The smaller garden cottage has one bedroom plus a lounge and deck overlooking the pond. Larger groups of friends travelling together can book both the Lodge and the Cottage, and with so much space for rollaways and foldouts, up to 12 people can enjoy Akyra’s unique style. There’s also a separate pet enclosure, so your pampered pooch is welcome to
join you.
