Introduction
beautifulaccommodation.com is more than just a website - it is an adjunct to the award-winning and bestselling series of Beautiful Accommodation guidebooks. Established in 1997, there have been 12 guidebooks produced in the award-winning and bestselling series covering all states in Australia. Since 1997, over 130,000 copies of our guides have been sold.
The philosophy behind Beautiful Accommodation is to present our readers with a handpicked collection of beautiful places to stay that offer memorable travel experiences - experiences that go beyond the selection offered in the usual travel brochures and websites.
Our reviewers and photographers visit each and every property in our books - resulting in recommendations that are trusted by our readers.
Entry into the guides is by invitation following a visit by a member of the Beautiful Accommodation review team. Unlike most other guides and websites, every property is visited. Properties that do not meet our criteria are not invited to be part of our selection. Once invited, properties are asked to pay a contribution fee, which helps defray the costs of production.
We have a team of photographers to take the photos featured on the website and in the guidebooks, and the reviews are written by professional writers based on the property visit. We maintain complete control over the selection process and editorial content. This policy results in beautifully produced, high quality guidebooks that are bought, kept and used over and over again.
We include any type of accommodation that is special, unique or boutique - B&Bs, cottages, apartments, holiday houses, boutique hotels, eco retreats and island escapes. We also include unusual experiences such as boating and yachting charters/safaris/tours, high end safari-type camps and exclusive air tours. But one thing they all have in common is that they must all be of a high standard, have something special to offer and be very welcoming.

Printed Guide
Each printed edition has a shelf life of two years, with a print run of 10,000-18,000 copies. Distribution is via bookshops, selected newsagents, gift stores and specialty retailers as well as RACV, NRMA and RACQ outlets. We also have an innovative program of selling direct to targeted consumers via travel shows and other consumer shows (such as the Good Food & Wine Shows).
Innovative Free E-Books
In 2008 we introduced what we believe to be an Australian first - the introduction of Free E-Books covering the entire content of our printed guides. Readers can request a Free E-Book of the desired region which is delivered to their email inbox using an automated delivery system. The Free E-Books maintain the look and feel of the printed guide and readers can print each property review, forward the E-Book to family and friends and save to their computer for future reference.

The Beautiful Accommodation website offers the entire content of our printed guides online and completes the digital distribution strategy. So wherever our readers are across Australia and the world, Beautiful Accommodation reviews, the latest packages and specials as well as recent news from our properties is accessible.
National Promotions Program
Beautiful Accommodation is distinguished by the extent that we promote our properties. Our central strategy involves supplementing traditional bookshop distribution with a sustained and intensive program of show promotions. To give you an idea - since first exhibiting in early 2005, we have sold over 23,000 copies of guides via various consumer shows where Beautiful Accommodation has stands. For example, the Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide Good Food and Wine Shows; the Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Perth Travel Shows; the Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide SEXPOs; and, the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne ABC Gardening EXPOs.
Digital Media Optimisation and Syndication
We employ a website optimiser and our reviews are syndicated to trusted internet sites (such as ninemsn and tripadvisor.com) resulting in worldwide exposure for properties included in our Beautiful Accommodation collection.
